Beyond The Surface: Erratic Landscapes of "The Californias"

Erratic landscapes, or shifting habitats that erode or regenerate over time, are the result of the influence of citizenship, geopolitics, and social justice on the environment. The critical geography between California and Baja California has been fueled by a collective imagination oriented by the notions of a "promised land" and utopia, obscuring the impact of industry, economy, and power struggle on local ecosystems, and consequently, on human rights.
