Puerto Rican artist Pepón Osorio’s project was a continuation of his exploration of the issues particular to the experience Latin immigrants have as they settle and integrate into the culture of the United States. Entitled Vista pública/Public Hearing, the installation dealt specifically with the frustrations and misunderstandings arising from interactions with government agencies. According to the artist, the piece evolves each time it is presented at a new site within a new community facing issues that describe the immigrant experience.
