Neighborhood Bonding Experience

Pablo Helguera began his interaction with the neighborhood in January 2015. He focused on the Geology Museum, one of the most emblematic institutions in Santa María La Ribera.

In April 2016, Helguera coordinated a mediation workshop with a group of guides from the Museum. The guides, primarily young with disparate educational backgrounds, gave guided tours to general visitors and to school groups. Helguera suggested mediation exercises to the guides, in order to provide them with additional tools for their work. On the following day, Helguera gave a talk in the museum’s auditorium to those interested in the ways that his artistic work and his experience as a museum mediator nurture each other to establish a consistent creative dialogue.
