Rita González
(Mexico, 1971)
In structuring the inSITE2000 Film and Video Series González and Iglesias created an eight-part collage with the idea of constructing an imaginary map of an imaginary city by using a system that combined experimental film, video, and classic works. In joining these pieces, normally distributed through different and incompatible media such as commercial cinema, art galleries, and television, a topography of textures was created, reflecting many of the emblematic spaces of the contemporary urban sphere.
