Mexico City artist Abraham Cruzvillegas chose to work in the garden of the Casa de la Cultura Municipal in Tijuana. Titled The Grass is Greener/El paso es más verde, his installation occupied two halves of the lawn at the front entrance of the Casa. Across each side of the lawn the artist used thin four-inch steel rods anchored into the ground that delicately balanced at their tips stuffed hummingbirds on one side and plastic asthma inhalators on the other. The juxtaposition of the natural with medical devices points both at environmental factors and the inevitable exchange on all levels that takes place across the border.
