Miguel A. López

Miguel A. López (Lima, Perú, 1983) is a writer and a curator. His work focuses on the role of art in politics and public life, collaborative dynamics, and feminist rewritings of art and culture. He is the curator of the 2024 edition of the Toronto Art Biennale. From 2015 to 2020, he worked as the head curator and then co-director of TEOR/éTica in San José, Costa Rica. In 2019, he curated the retrospective exhibition Cecilia Vicuña: Seehearing the Enlightened Failure at the Witte de With (now Kunsinstituut Melly), which traveled to Mexico, Madrid, and Bogota. He is the author of Robar la historia. Contrarrelatos y prácticas artísticas de oposición (2017) and Ficciones disidentes en la tierra de la misoginia (2019). He edited And if I devoted my life to one of its feathers? Aesthetic Responses to Extraction, Accumulation, and Dispossession (2022). In 2016, he received the Independent Vision Curatorial Award of the ICI (Independent Curators International), New York.
