María Eugenia Yllia (Lima, Peru, 1973) is an art historian, curator, and museologist with experience in research and dissemination of modern and contemporary nonacademic Peruvian art, from a critical and interdisciplinary perspective. Her practice addresses issues of indigeneities, extractivisms, exclusion, gender, and visual counterhegemonies. She has published articles focusing on the situation of museums in Peru, collections, and twentieth-century art with an emphasis on contemporary Andean and Amazonian Indigenous arts. She teaches in the Master’s in Art with a focus on Latin American art at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), the Master’s in Art History and Curatorship at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), and in the Master’s of Museology and Cultural Management at the Universidad Ricardo Palma, Lima.
